Automatic water treatment on an agricultural farm

What type of water do you use?

Benoît: Most of the water used is (deep) drainage water, the pipes are at a depth of 4 meters. In summer, this is exceptionally insufficient, and then we supplement with water from a 20-meter deep well. Average consumption on our farm is 50 m³ per day.

Why do you find it important that your water is treated?

Benoît: We think this is important because of the high health status we aim for, water is an essential part of this, the animals drink a lot and we want to be sure that this water is of good quality. For the Certus label we take a sample annually, we always do this at the furthest tap point 350 meters away to ensure that our entire pipe network is in order and the results are always very good! On our farm, water quality is no longer a concern and that gives us peace of mind, that is our greatest motivation.

Why did you choose the Konax Agridos?

For certainty! Like many companies, we used to have a separate pump that dosed the product via an injection line. It happened too often that we were late refilling the stock or that something went wrong with the dosing. It was something we had to keep an eye on constantly. Any interruption in dosing, however brief, created a new opportunity for biofilm growth and again more risk of poor water samples.

With the Konax Agridos, this concern has completely disappeared, everything runs automatically, the product is automatically made and dosed. We feel safe with it, no more risk of contamination. The device also has a number of alarms that preventively alert us if the raw materials are low or if something goes wrong.

Is there anything you need to follow up on yourself?

Benoît: Not really, the Agridos can be monitored via a platform, we get emails if something is wrong and moreover this is also monitored by the people at Agro logic, who additionally notify us if we haven't seen our email immediately. Updates also run remotely and raw materials are automatically supplied when they run out.

Does the Konax Agridos offer any other advantages?

Benoît: Via the platform it is also possible to monitor the water consumption on my farm. Water consumption is directly related to the health of our animals and gives us a faster signal than we would notice ourselves. This is a fantastic tool to monitor your farm today, to intervene preventively from data in a very fast and simple way.
