Biofilm removal and effective disinfection for industrial process water, with minimal chemistry and maximum results.
There are many disinfection technologies, each with their own advantages and disadvantages. The choice of the right technology depends, among other things, on the origin of the contamination. Is it a source contamination or a system contamination?
Biofilm: the invisible threat
In bacteriological problems in process water, the cause is usually linked to the biofilm built up on the inside of the pipes. Pathogens such as Salmonella, Pseudomonas, E. coli and Legionella grow in this slimy biofilm and are protected by it against traditional disinfection.
An effective approach is only possible if the biofilm is completely removed and the bacteria present are killed.
Traditional disinfectants do not penetrate the biofilm
Biofilm grows back quickly after occasional cleaning
Contamination affects product quality and increases health risks
Two complementary steps to tackle biofilm in the pipe network.

A one-time cleaning and disinfection of the pipe network with PT4-approved products resets the pipes microbiologically. These products penetrate the biofilm to kill pathogens.

Continuous disinfection with the Konax® Prodis, based on chlorine dioxide (Easydis 2000 or Easydis 7500), is one of the most efficient ways to disinfect water according to drinking water standards. Both free bacteria and biofilm are continuously kept under control.
A gatekeeper as a barrier against microbiology
Biofilm formation begins at the source. Alternative water sources such as rainwater and well water generally carry a higher bacteriological load than tap water. A gatekeeper at the source eliminates these germs before they ever reach your pipe network.
Treats the water at the source, before it enters your installation.
Keeps sources with variable or high germ loads in check.
Prevents bacteria from entering and building up biofilm.
With UV, ultrafiltration, chlorine or chlorine dioxide, depending on the source quality.
