Biofilm: the invisible threat

In bacteriological problems in process water, the cause is usually linked to the biofilm built up on the inside of the pipes. Pathogens such as Salmonella, Pseudomonas, E. coli and Legionella grow in this slimy biofilm and are protected by it against traditional disinfection.

An effective approach is only possible if the biofilm is completely removed and the bacteria present are killed.

Shock treatment

A one-time cleaning and disinfection of the pipe network with PT4-approved products resets the pipes microbiologically. These products penetrate the biofilm to kill pathogens.

Continuous disinfection via Prodis

Continuous disinfection with the Konax® Prodis, based on chlorine dioxide (Easydis 2000 or Easydis 7500), is one of the most efficient ways to disinfect water according to drinking water standards. Both free bacteria and biofilm are continuously kept under control.

Source contamination
