Regular disinfection of process water in a brewery is crucial; it prevents the growth of biofilm in the pipes and thus contamination within the installation.
In this brewery, Konax treats 2 streams of water:
- the Reverse Osmosis (RO) water (disinfection dosing in the tank)
- a stream of ordinary softened water (disinfection dosing in the pipe)
Initially, a system with separate dosing pumps and ready-to-use disinfection formulation was chosen.
After years of evaluation and good functioning of the disinfection system, an upgrade was made to our fully automatic Konax® Prodis. The previously installed pumps were not a lost investment, but were incorporated into the new installation.
The advantages of this adaptation to the fully automatic Konax Prodis:
- no more manual preparation of the chemicals
- a continuous, uninterrupted disinfection
- increased flexibility: with 1 installation it can be expanded to 4 circuits
- easy monitoring of the disinfection via the Data Control Room
The content of active disinfectant in the tank is continuously measured and readable on a screen, so that measurement results can be monitored remotely.
